Samenvatting

» Door het multidimensionale karakter van chronische (aspecifieke) pijn en de multidisciplinaire benadering ervan, komen kinderen en adolescenten met chronische pijn ook bij de fysiotherapeut. Voor het opstellen van een behandelplan is het belangrijk om inzicht te hebben in de directe en indirecte gevolgen van de pijn voor het kind/de adolescent en voor zijn systeem. De belangrijkste domeinen om te onderzoeken zijn pijnintensiteit, fysiek functioneren, emotioneel functioneren en sociaal functioneren. Het zal voor de fysiotherapeut onnodig (en onmogelijk) zijn om alle domeinen zelf in kaart te brengen; wel is het belangrijk voor de behandeling om op de hoogte te zijn van de resultaten en de interpretatie hiervan.
