Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk beschrijven we, na een introductie over het ontstaan en de ontwikkeling van cognitieve therapie, de basisbeginselen van de praktijk van cognitieve therapie. Hierbij komen aan bod: de structuur van de zitting, uitleg van de therapie, de therapeutische relatie met de patiënt, het bespreken van huiswerkopdrachten, de socratische dialoog, verschillende technieken om automatische disfunctionele gedachten uit te dagen, het formuleren van rationele gedachten en het geven van feedback aan de patiënt.
