7. Emotieregulatie trainen binnen een schoolse context

Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk beschrijft de rationale, randvoorwaarden en toepassingen van het Boost Camp, een universeel preventieprogramma dat focust op het aanleren en stimuleren van zes verschillende emotieregulatievaardigheden. Het hoofdstuk start met een uiteenzetting van de relevantste inzichten en recentste studies uit het onderzoeksdomein, die als rationale hebben gediend voor de ontwikkeling van het programma. Daarna wordt uitgebreid ingegaan op de rol die leerkrachten kunnen innemen bij het organiseren van zulke school-gebaseerde preventieprogramma’s en op welke manier ze de emotieregulatievaardigheden van leerlingen positief kunnen beïnvloeden. Meer specifiek worden concrete tips en handvatten aangeboden met betrekking tot het fungeren als rolmodel, emotiecoaching en het scheppen van een veilig emotioneel klasklimaat. Vervolgens worden de mogelijkheden voor de toepassing van het Boost Camp-programma (voor wie, door wie, wat en hoe) toegelicht en wordt een overzicht gegeven van de sessiespecifieke inhoud van het programma.
