Samenvatting

‘Protocollen van de mondhygiënist en die van de tandarts lijken elkaar tegen te spreken. De tandarts vindt antibioticaprofylaxe bij een patiënt met twee in 2005 geplaatste heupprotheses niet nodig. Ik als mondhygiënist wil dit bij bloedige ingrepen wel geven. Het betreft een gezonde vrouw van 54 jaar. De behandelend orthopedisch chirurg als arbiter bij dit probleem betrokken, raadt aan 3-maal daags 1 tablet amoxicilline/clavulaanzuur drie dagen te beginnen 1 dag voor de behandeling bij de mondhygiënst. Help, wat is juist…‘
