Thompson E. Davis II, Susan W. White and Thomas H. Ollendick: Handbook of Autism and Anxiety

Whenever I think about Autism as a diagnosis or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often I think about the complexity that accompanies the condition due to the presence of comorbid disorders. Autism has a wide spectrum and so are the number of comorbid disorders associated with the condition. For the reason above-mentioned, I was somewhat excited and surprised to learn about the existence of a book so specific to autism. The book Handbook of Autism and Anxiety is written with an academic tone and with a significant amount of aggregated data displayed in each chapter. The editors of the book compiled a list of phenomenal researchers and clinicians in the field of autism to contribute to this book. Many of the authors are known in the field of autism from various settings with different expertise. Chapters are short and a quick read which provides the reader with a snapshot of what the larger discussion may entail. The book is well structured and organized and it makes information accessible which may be beneficial to various disciplines. …
