Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk gaan we op zoek naar verklaringen voor waarom iemand een einde aan zijn leven maakt. Zoals zal blijken zijn er voor iedere suïcide meervoudige verklaringen mogelijk. En wat beschermt mensen tegen suïcide? Een aantal beschermende factoren worden besproken. Vooral verbondenheid met anderen weerhoudt mensen ervan een einde aan hun leven te maken.
