In their book, Developmental Psychology: Revisiting the Classic Studies, editors Alan M. Slater and Paul C. Quinn, and a number of contributing authors, explore various areas of developmental psychology, critically examining a classic study in each area, critiquing it, and then positioning that study among more recent studies. Each chapter focuses on a particular topic within the larger field of developmental psychology, and each chapter is written by a different author. The chapters detail a number of studies, the outcomes of those studies, and how the studies advanced a particular field as a whole. Each chapter is short and easy to understand, but also informative, making Slater and Quinn’s book an excellent synopsis of the current research in various areas of developmental psychology. …
