Bernard Fleming, Elisabeth Hurley and The Goth: Choosing Autism Interventions: A Research-Based Guide

Whenever I encounter a book about autism which incorporates a first-hand perspective from someone on the spectrum, I usually find myself enjoying it. While the title of the book “Choosing Autism Interventions: A Research-Based Guide” had me confused, the content was valuable especially if you are in search of a different approach for interventions of individuals diagnosed with autism. Pick up this book up and you will find it an easily read. There are many things I appreciate about this book. First, it is a well-organized and well-structured. The book begins by presenting the reader with basic key terms and then progresses to provide over 20 types of interventions. At the end, the authors are providing a guide on how to make a decision and choose an appropriate intervention. While there are variations and differences between the approach to treatment of autism in Europe and in Northern America, I believe that the book has a universal purpose of providing an organized, concise and parsimonious manner for parents, teachers and healthcare providers in their search of the best available treatment for their loved ones as well as the individuals they are serving. …
