Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk worden diverse pijnbegrippen besproken die bij gecompliceerde pijndiagnostiek een rol kunnen spelen. Nadruk in dit hoofdstuk ligt op nauwkeurige differentiële diagnostiek in het orofaciale gebied en hoe die systematisch kan worden uitgevoerd. De diverse vormen van niet-dentogene pijn, waaronder neuropathische pijn, worden besproken, evenals de therapeutische mogelijkheden.
