Samenvatting

De tand is een complex orgaan met ectodermale, neuro-ectodermale en mesodermale componenten. Diverse genetische en verworven aandoeningen hebben hun effect op dit complex, wat zich kan manifesteren in een ontwikkeling van de gebitselementen die ook haar weerslag heeft op de toestand van de pulpa. De beschrijving is hier beperkt tot het effect van de diverse erfelijke ziekten en verworven aandoeningen op de pulpa en de periapex. Ook wordt het effect van veroudering besproken
