How far would you go to protect your children? In her book Protecting Our Kids? How Sex Offender Laws Are Failing Us, Emily Horowitz analyzes history to show how sex offenders have come to be regarded as monsters in our culture, and recounts experiences of convicted sex offenders and their families. Through these two techniques, she argues that sex offender laws strip offenders of their Constitutional rights, while doing little to protect our children. She comes to the conclusion that reforming sex offender laws would actually make us all safer and would better protect our children. …
